Hearing about the attack on Salman Rushdie last week, and learning about the location where he was attacked, brought back memories from the time we had been to Chautauqua Institution. It was back in 2016, when we stayed in Mayville, NY, at the north side of Chautauqua Lake.
We rented a home with friends, and stayed there for a long weekend, enjoying the beautiful weather, renting a pontoon boat to do some fishing on the lake, and enjoying the area. We then also visited the Chautauqua Institution. It was so peaceful and beautiful there, that it is hard to imagine someone trying to kill someone else in this specific location…
